Swindon-Cricklade railway Wartime Weekend: Photos
Wartime at the Swindon Cricklade Railway happens every autumn, when the steam railway hosts its 'Wartime Weekend'.
WW2 reenactors, 1940s enthusiasts and military vehicle drivers bring together the looks and sounds of the railway as it was during the Second World War.
The Wartime Weekend is a fun event for all the family, with displays of how life was at home and at the front, and the cute steam engine provides rides along this enthusiast-run railway.
Based on the site of Blunsdon Station between Swindon and Cricklade, the line uses part of the trackbed of the former Midland & South Western Junction Railway.
