Dancing to the sounds of the 40s brings an extra dimension to remembering this period; with many dance schools specialising in this form of dance and many period dances held.

1940s entertainer Paul Harper recreates the sounds and feel of period greats.
Sometimes these events feature battles, and sometimes more peaceful themes.
Living history entertainers bring 1940s events to life by performing the sounds of Vera Lynn, Glenn Miller and swing music.
The largest period show in the UK is the War & Peace Show at Beltring, Kent each summer.
Here re-enactors can be seen dug-in and patrolling their encampments while the sound of 40’s entertainment can be heard coming from the marquee.
Here Vera Lynn and George Formby tributes entertain show weary troops.
Steam railways are always nostalgic and provide the perfect venues for WW2 themed events.
USO Shows
During WW2 the USO Camp Shows were presenting to an audience totaling more than 173 million.
Today the USO shows are recreated by a dedicated group of living history enthusiasts, who host 1940's themed dances and entertainment around the UK.
